Know your body type, dress it better ;) ..!

So I've been getting a lot of requests and questions about body types and how to dress according to your body type, below you'll have several body types with pictures that will help you to dress better according to your body and hide unflattering areas or areas that you don't feel comfortable showing or focusing on and have trouble hiding them. Hope what I wrote helps you all xx

By dressing for your body type when shopping 99% of us buy clothes we like of rack. It's quite rare for women to actually analyze the best types of clothing for them. The key to purchase looking good or bad had everything to o with knowing the pieces you buy. There are types of clothing that will flatter you, and there are types of clothing that will wind up looking terrible on you and sometimes too frumpy and ugly. Women needs to know which category their bodies fall into so they can buy clothes that accentuate their positives and hides the not so flattering areas.

Below i'll be addressing the Apple body shape and the the brick body shape if you need help in other body shapes from 1 to 9 you can email me at maryamalolaimy.mao@gmail.com. happy reading. xx

  • 1. The apple body shape

Roundness is the defining feature of the Apple body shape. This body shape is often a challenge to find good clothes. Go for flattering flowing garments not shapeless tents that are simply too big.
Look for :
  • Tops that are tight under the breasts.
  • skinny black, dark grey, maroon pants or leggings
  • Not too flowy but slightly pleated not too long tops
  • Side fastening pleated skirts.
  • Straight cut coats.

Straight cut coats for winter or straight cut spring summer coats
Flowy shirt slight pleated hem worn over tight black jeans and wedges or high heel sandals

Another flowy top slightly pleated at the hem but lose the belt wear it over skinny jeans and wedges or sandal heels or throw a coat on it and wear it with suede skinny pants and ankle boots

Keep away from:
  • Tight T shirts,
  • Large shapeless tops and dresses
  • High wasted trousers.
  • Anything that adds bulk to you
  • Padded jackets

 KEEP AWAY FROM PADED JACKETS
NEVER WEAR THESE IF YOU WERE AN APPLE SHAPE

2. The brick body shape

Bricks are notable for not having any particularly prominent body areas and normally have :
  • Broad shoulders
  • No defined waist or bottom.
  • thick thighs and calves which can lead to a square masculine look.
Many Bricks go for the option of baggy clothes to try to cover up what they see as a troublesome body shape but this normally only makes things worse as loose garments just hang off the broad shoulders emphasising the whole brick alike shape. The key to dressing well as a Brick is to try to reduce the masculine elements in your shape as much as possible and this is entirely possible, The way to do this is to not be afraid to go a little over the top because your frame can easily carry glamorous and bold styles that many women would not even be able to attempt.
Look for :
  • Anything that creates a waist, such as tightly belted jackets.
  • Empire line coats.
  • Loose but not too big trousers.
  • Gently draping jersey tops.
  • Tops with a pattern to break up the larger body area.

KEEP AWAY FROM :
  • Bulky, broad shouldered jackets that make you look even bigger.
  • Anything that emphasises the width of your upper body (double breasted jackets etc.).
  • Very short skirts.
  • Trousers that do not hang naturally.
  • Clumpy, un feminine shoes.
